NORTHERN CALIFORNIA — Sunshine and warm temperatures are returning to the Bay Area and Sacramento with daytime highs climbing into the 70s in the days ahead.

But along with the sunshine will be powerful winds, strong enough for the National Weather Service to issue a Wind Advisory from Wednesday through Friday.

Coastal areas will be spared but inland valleys and hills will feel the full brunt of the wind.

Interior mountains will experience gusts up to 50 mph and sustained winds of 20 to 30 mph.

The valleys will have it slightly easier, with wind gusts peaking at 45 mph and sustained winds of 15 to 25 mph.

The Wind Advisory stretches from Shasta County to Fresno, and from the Bay Area to beyond Sacramento.

The weather service predicts widespread temperatures in the 70s on Friday. The wind ends on Friday, but clear skies and warm temperatures will last through the weekend, "it should be quite nice," according to NWS.
