San Bruno Dynamite Wins Inaugural 'El Palo Alto' Soccer Tournament

The San Bruno Dynamite, a "select" girls soccer team from San Bruno, won the inaugural "El Palo Alto" soccer tournament held on April 28-29, 2012, in Palo Alto. 

The tournament field was comprised of ten teams from Northern California in the American Youth Soccer Organization's under-14 age division. 

The Dynamite scored 12 goals during the weekend and did not allow a single goal—defeating the Palo Alto Blizzard 5-0 and the Millbrae Blue Machine 4-0, tying the Davis Fury 0-0, and then defeating the Davis Fury in the championship game 3-0.

The Dynamite's tournament roster included Sierra Olsen, Ahlam Taha, Talia Hafter, Jennifer Ortega, Natalie Estelita, Brianna Ledesma, Anisha Kohli, Kaitlin Leung, Fernanda Castro, Ashika Varma, Julissa Gonzalez, Alix Mahon, Angie Navarro, Yazmin Zaparolli, and Sara Bermudez. 

Dynamite players Jamie Swedberg and Margarett Qaqish were unable to play due to injuries.
