San Bruno Police Begin Wrong-Way Parking Education Campaign
During March, officers will be handing out warning notices to vehicles found parked the wrong way.
SAN BRUNO, CA — San Bruno police are embarking on an education campaign in March to remind drivers to park on the right side of the street.
It is against the law in California to park on the wrong side of a two-way street facing oncoming traffic, and the Police Department will be issuing public safety announcements on social media, the city's website, and San Bruno Cable to remind residents of that fact.
When drivers park on the wrong side of the street, they have a hard time seeing approaching vehicles since they are seated closer to the curb than the roadway, and have to head into oncoming traffic to start driving, police said.
