A New Montessori School Opened In This San Mateo County City
There will be a ribbon cutting ceremony for the school's opening Wednesday.
SAN CARLOS, CA — A brand new Montessori school for preschoolers and kindergarteners in San Carlos will celebrate the grand opening Wednesday morning with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
The new Learn and Play Montessori school located at 510 Laurel St. officially opened its doors in January but there is a ribbon-cutting ceremony planned for 11 a.m. Wednesday where local leaders will speak.
At the event, Erica Wood, the San Mateo County Chamber of Commerce president, will speak. There will also be a performance from over 30 students singing “It’s a Small World.”

Additionally, 4Cs of San Mateo will present a check to the school. 4Cs is the Child Care Coordinating Council of San Mateo County that supports parents, providers, and the community in finding, planning for, and paying for accessible, affordable, and quality child care.
Debra White, the Busy Bees North America director of operations will also speak at the event. Learn and Play Montessori is part of Busy Bees, which operates over 230 child care centers across the U.S. and Canada.

Busy Bees North America bought Learn and Play Montessori in January of this year, which included 15 Bay Area schools.

Learn and Play started in 2008 and was aimed at offering daycare, childcare, preschool, PreK, TK, kindergarten and after-school education in Fremont, Danville, Pleasant Hill, Moraga, Hercules, San Carlos, Milpitas, Sunnyvale and Dublin.
