Probationers Arrested In Peninsula

Deputies said they found the suspects with 77 credit cards belonging to multiple people and 10 ID cards belonging to multiple people.

SAN CARLOS, CA -- Two people on probation were arrested Friday morning in San Carlos after allegedly being found with dozens of stolen credit cards and identification cards. The San Mateo County Sheriff's Office said deputies responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle at Americas Best Value Inn on El Camino Real.

After checking the guests' information, deputies discovered Hanschris Ballente, 37, of Modesto, and Kaylee Kunce, 31, of Stockton were staying in the room.

Officials said Ballente jumped out the back window and ran on foot when deputies came to the door, but he was later caught by Redwood City officers.

In searching the hotel room, deputies found numerous suspicious items including stolen mail, approximately 77 credit cards belonging to multiple people, 10 ID cards belonging to multiple people, checks, a collapsible baton, pepper spray, two car window punches, a digital car key chip machine and a baggie containing suspected methamphetamine, officials said.

Both suspects were arrested on multiple charges.
