Estimated cost is less than $500, and includes a subsidy from the San Carlos Sister City Association. The program is open to students aged 15-18 residing on the Peninsula from San Mateo to Menlo Park.  Deadline for applications is June 30.

Founded in 1526, Metepec has been designated a “Magical City” by the Mexico Tourism Board for the town’s quality of life, beautiful location and support of the arts.

It’s located 35 miles southwest of Mexico City and is known for its pottery, glassware, saddle making and a unique art form called the Tree of Life.  Metepec and San Carlos officially became sister cities last year.

For information on the student exchange program, call Leonor Urbain of the San Carlos Sister City Association at 650-823-2419 or send an e-mail to LUrbain@comcast.net.
