CRIME REPORTS: Car Racing, Remote Surveillance, Alleged Embezzlement, Gun-Toting Woman

These are the reports of note pulled from San Clemente Police Services dispatch log back through Sunday of this week.

At 7:59 a.m. Friday, a caller reported a burglary in progress at the 2900 block of Hierro.

At 8:39 p.m. Thursday, a caller reported a stolen vehicle at the 2900 block of Arreos.

At 2:05 p.m. Thursday, deputies responded to a vehicle race. A white truck and an old-model compact car were reportedly racing along Avenida Vista Hermosa from Talega toward Pico.

At 9:42 a.m. Thursday at the 100 block of Algodon, a caller reported that an employee of the hotel there was allegedly embezzling money.

At 8:29 a.m. Wednesday, deputies arrested a 50-year-old man after a traffic stop near the intersection of Avenida Estacion and North El Camino Real.

At 1:35 a.m. Wednesday, a caller reported a man with a gun at the 500 block of El Camino Real. Police arrested a 20-year-old man in connection with the report.

At 11:06 p.m. Tuesday, a man whom dispatchers called “uncooperative” reported that a female driving a silver car held him at gunpoint and stole his passport. No arrests were reported as a result of the call.

At 4:46 p.m. Tuesday, a caller from Calle Embocadura reported that she suspected a stepson of breaking into the home and stealing documents.

At 2:14 p.m. Tuesday, police arrested a 23-year-old man after they responded to a traffic accident at West Paseo Cristobal. The man reportedly was driving on a suspended license.

At 10:43 p.m. Monday, a business owner called police from home to report a burglary in progress at the 100 block of Avenida Victoria. He told the dispatcher he was at home watching a feed from his video surveillance system and saw shadows of people moving around inside the business.

At 5:12 p.m. Monday, police arrested a 31-year-old pedestrian at the intersection of Del Mar and Camino Real.

 At 1:42 a.m. Monday, police arrested a female juvenile near the intersection of North El Camino Real and Calle de los Molinos.

 At 7:08 p.m. Sunday, an employee at the Jack in the Box near South El Camino Real and Via Magdalena reported a woman had hit an employee in the face and was yelling. Deputies arrested a 46-year-old woman as a result of the call.

At 2:10 p.m. Sunday, deputies arrested a 20-year-old man accused of shoplifting on the 500 block of Camino de Estrella.
