Local military veteran launches "Puzzles Supporting Alzheimer's"

100% of proceeds from daily Substack newsletter and related puzzle books donated to the Alzheimer's Association.

I'm a San Clemente puzzle enthusiast and U.S. Navy veteran who has launched Puzzles Supporting Alzheimer's, a new Substack newsletter giving readers a daily dose of fun – and purpose. The publication delivers a daily “Game Break” including original, engaging brain puzzles straight to subscribers’ inboxes each morning, while donating 100% of paid subscription fees to Alzheimer’s research.

I wanted to create something that inspires people to think, solve, and give. Every puzzle challenges your mind, and every paid subscription helps fund critical research to understand and fight Alzheimer’s disease.

Each daily Game Break features links to two unique word games – SCRAMBLE and FRAGMENTS. Like Wordle, both games are updated each day for a challenging new experience. Free subscribers receive the daily Game Break puzzles. At the same time, paid subscribers also receive a separate daily email with a bonus puzzle selected from my seven published puzzle books, and a free FRAGMENTS Puzzle e-book packed with 100+ puzzles offering five increasing levels of difficulty.

All of the revenue from the puzzle book sales also goes to support Alzheimer’s research.

Keeping your mind active isn’t just fun — it’s essential. Puzzles are preventive medicine — powerful tools for keeping your mind strong and agile. Research suggests that puzzles can slow or even prevent cognitive issues later in life. I’ve watched too many people suffer from this terrible illness. That’s why I decided that 100% of the proceeds from Substack and my books will be donated directly to Alzheimer’s research.
