Permanent Golf Course Food Vendor not yet Picked

The San Clemente City Council Tuesday is set to extend the contract with the interim restaurant operator while officials decide which bid to select.

It'll be another couple months before restaurant at the has a permanent operator.

Right now, the city is paying Gary Greenberg $7,000 per month to operate the clubhouse eatery. City staffers say in their report to city council that Greenberg will probably have to run the show for another two months while they pick from among the bidders who want to set up shop at the clubhouse.

The city brought in Greenberg, who operates the concession at , earlier this year after Irons in the Fire and other restaurants in the BeachFire chain went defunct.
