San Clemente Man Going to Jail For Mission Viejo Bank Robbery

The 59-year-old man pleaded guilty and will serve jail time.

A 59-year-old man pleaded guilty to attempting to rob a Wells Fargo bank branch in Mission Viejo and was immediately sentenced to a year in jail, according to court records obtained Thursday.

Raymond Edward Feiner of San Clemente pleaded guilty to attempted second-degree robbery Tuesday. He was also placed on three years of formal probation.

The attempted robbery occurred just after 10 a.m. at 26151 La Paz Road on Sept. 17, according to Orange County sheriff’s Lt. Jeff Hallock.

The suspect entered the bank wearing a blue skull cap, sunglasses and a fake gray beard, according to a surveillance image released by the sheriff.

Feiner was arrested right after the Wells Fargo stickup as a witness trailed him out of the bank and pointed him out to sheriff’s deputies who were arriving on the scene of the robbery, Hallock said. Feiner was arrested without incident as he tried to drive away from the robbery in a pickup truck, Hallock said.
