San Clemente Patch Wants You as a Blogger

As we roll out new software that allows us to host community members' blogs, we're looking for people in the community who can write and who have something to say.

If you like to write and are passionate about something in San Clemente, then you should contact us. Whether it's education, government, business, social issues, shopping, dog training techniques or all the best places to go running in San Clemente—if it's your thing, we'd like you to consider blogging for Patch.

Get the word out about your community organization, share your expertise or simply voice your opinion. We want to serve our community through this new blogging platform.

  • Are you passionate about San Clemente's core issues?
  • Are you an expert craftsman or hobbyist who can share do-it-yourself tips?
  • Do you have strong opinions about local government?
  • Can you just make us all laugh?
  • Can you write compellingly?

Then, we want to hear from you.

This isn't a reporting job. It's blogging. You write what you want to say when you want to say it. Do it on your schedule, whether that's posting multiple entries per day or a couple times a month.

Patch won't own what you post, so you can repost your entries to your other blogs. Much like The Huffington Post has done, Patch is providing local bloggers an online platform to have their words seen by a larger audience.

Be interesting. Be provocative. Be yourself.

The blog platform, when we roll it out in a couple weeks, will be more free-wheeling than the San Clemente Patch homepage. Although the editor will have the final say whether a blog post is published, for the most part, anything that is legal and not totally obscene, goes.

This is a chance to share your expertise and opinions with a wider audience! Feel free to e-mail me at adam.townsend@patch.com or call me at 949-436-3050.
