The City of San Clementeβs 14th annual summer beachΒ concert series kicks off on Thursday, May 30, 2013.
The free concerts, held just north of the SanΒ Clemente Municipal Pier are free to attend and start at 6 p.m. People are advised to bring a blanket orΒ chairs, sunglasses and sunscreen.
The first in the series on May 30th is the acclaimed student concert featuring San Clemente HighΒ School and Shorecliffs Middle School Jazz Bands. A solo by Norm Douglas will also be performed.Β Special dinner plates by the Fishermanβs Restaurant will be available for $8 and will include: BBQΒ ribs, chicken, baked beans, oriental salad, sourdough bread and a non-alcoholic beverage.Β
The music continues throughout the summer with three more beach concerts. Mark yourΒ calendars and be part of a tradition of celebrating live music on the beach with the sunset as yourΒ backdrop and free seating in the sand.
These concerts are sponsored by the Friends of San ClementeΒ Beaches, Parks and Recreation Foundation. The remaining three concerts are scheduled as follows:
- July 25th Flock of 80βs - 80βs MusicΒ
- Aug 8th Mark Wood Parrot Head Band - Tribute to Jimmy Buffett
- Aug 22nd World Anthem - ReggaeΒ
