Swallows Make Their Homes at Home Improvement Center
Apparently the eaves at the entrance to Lowe's at Pico Plaza are the perfect nesting place for the seasonal visitors and their young.
The in San Juan Capistrano is famous as a home foras they fly back from Argentina every year, but San Clemente is also home to the seasonal songbirds.
Here, the swallows have picked a more secular nesting place: The eaves of Home Improvement Center at Pico Plaza. Take a look at the eaves over the entrance closest to the lumber loading area--more than a dozen mud-and-straw nests are nestled in the corners, usually with a tiny, white-crested head looking down inquisitively at passing customers.
To see them the most active, stop by super early in the morning or at dusk.
