Universities Scope SCHS Sophomore Quarterback

From Jaime Ortiz, head football coach -- The San Clemente Football program is proud to announce that Sophomore Quarterback Sam Darnold has received his first offer yesterday by the University of Utah. He has had a wide range of interest as USC, UCLA, SDSU among others have visited practice. Stanford Offensive Coordinator Mike Bloomgren is coming to our practice tomorrow to watch Sam as well. We are proud of our QB tradition at San Clemente as we currently have 4 QB's playing at the next level with the following: Travis Wilson: Starter Utah Chase Rettig: Starter Boston College Ben Gomez: Starter Lindenwood Duke Delancellotti: Back Up North Texas We are one of the few programs in the nation with two QB's starting at the Division One level with Wilson and Rettig. We are excited for Sam and we expect more great opportunities for Sam, as he is a fine example of a student-athlete. GO TRITONS!
