Capistrano School Calendar 2017-18: First Day Of School, Vacations, Conferences

The first day of school in Capistrano is August 22. Feel free to mark it on your calendar as one of the most dreaded days of the year for students and teachers — and feel free not to feel guilty about marking it as one of your favorites. The Capistrano Unified School District has released its 2017-2018 calendar for public schools.

The calendar includes important dates such as winter and spring vacations, religious holidays, federal holidays, early dismissals and parent-teacher conferences.

• 8/29 - 8/31: Middle School Back-to-School Night

September

• 9/4: No School (Labor Day)
• 9/5 - 9/7: High School Back-to-School Night
• 9/12 - 9/14: Elementary School Back-to-School Night

October

• 10/30 - 10/31: Elementary Minimum Days (Parent Conferences)

November

• 11/1: No School for Students (Elementary Parent Conferences, Secondary Professional Development)
• 11/2 - 11/3: Elementary Minimum Days (Parent Conferences)
• 11/10: No School (Veterans Day)
• 11/20 - 11/24: No School (Thanksgiving Recess)
• 11/27: School Resumes

December

• 12/19 - 12/21: High School Minimum Days (Exams)
• 12/22: No School for Students (Elementary Professional Development, Secondary Semester Wrap-up)
• 12/25 - 1/5: No School (winter Recess)

January

• 1/1 - 1/5: No School (winter Recess)
• 1/8: School Resumes
• 1/15: No School (Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day)
