A Medieval Charity Faire with Knights, Swords and Jousting

Bethany’s Gait—a Southern California with a ranch in San Juan Capistrano and that rescues children and horses together in conjunction with Hanaeleh, a non-profit horse rescue and the Imperial Knights—will be hosting a medieval charity fair at the Orange County Fairgrounds Nov. 6, 2011.

The fair will go from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and will take place at the main arena in the equestrian area.

The main show will include full-contact jousting, sword fighting and dancing horses by the Imperial Knights.  The Imperial Knights use all rescued horses in their shows.  Before the show, during intermission and afterward, animals from various rescues at the fair will be able to showcase their animals.

Bethany’s Gait horses come from places of abuse and neglect. The children and young adults who visit also come from troubled backgrounds, some in foster homes, others struggling to stay sober, and still others dealing with depression and the anxieties of life. Together they help each other heal through unconditional love, unwavering trust and a keen understanding of what the other has been through.

Animal rescues across Southern California are invited to attend the event and host a booth.  Local rescues who have confirmed attendance so far include: Red Bucket Equine Rescue, Bethany’s Gait, Modjeska Ranch Rescue, Second Chance Rescue, Barks of Love, Pugs ‘n’ Pals, Lily Parrot Sanctuary, ICare Dog Rescue, The Fuzzy Pet Foundation, Tijuana River Valley Animal Rescue, Mustang Spirit, Under the Angel’s Wings Rescue, Inc. and the Siberian Husky Rescue.
