Furry Friends Now Allowed On Pacific Surfliner Trains
Starting Friday, passengers can bring dogs or cats weighing 20 pounds or less aboard Pacific Surfliner trains.

SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, CA - Calling all dogs, cats and potential Amtrak passengers! Beginning Friday, residents riding Pacific Surfliner trains can bring their pets aboard, Amtrak announced Tuesday.
While certified service animals have always been allowed on Amtrak trains, this announcement marks the first time the train service has allowed non-service animals on their locomotives.
Each pet reservation will run at $26 per pet, Amtrak said. Pets must weigh 20 pounds or less to acquire a reservation, and there are only five total pet reservations available per train.
