Historic Preservation Manager Heads to Riverside

After six years on the job in San Juan Capistrano, Teri Delcamp will vacate the post Friday.

Teri Delcamp, who for six years has overseen historic preservation projects in San Juan Capistrano, is leaving her post in City Hall Friday.

"My time here leaves me with some truly wonderful memories," said Delcamp.

Delcamp said she will begin a new position as historic preservation senior planner for the city of Riverside shortly after Thanksgiving.

Her departure leaves a void in San Juan Capistrano, the cradle of history in Orange County, local historian Jan Siegel said.

Siegel named four projects currently underway that will be impacted by Delcamp's resignation: , a and retrofits at the and B adobes.

A graduate of Dana Hills High School, Delcamp said her fondest memories working for San Juan Capistrano are helping design the award-winning Los Rios Park and the dedication of the Cultural Heritage Commission, an advisory body to the City Council.

In her six years, she has also managed restoration projects at eight city-owned historic buildings, and has coordinated events for the city's annual Historic Preservation Week celebration.

The historic preservation position is now one of four manager positions vacant at City Hall.
