Long Beach Playhouse and Gallery Presents Works of CSU Long Beach Artist

Marka Burns is also an art educator at Long Beach State.

Burns’ work “Allegory of Spirit in Nature” reflects her ongoing search to capture the fragile and elusive qualities that are found in nature and thereby in her art. In pursuit of these ideas, symbols were chosen for this series that were a marriage of natural and spiritual imagery. The artist states that it is “fascinating to see how transitory ideas connect to the image — each allowed me to preserve fragile moments of insight. This process has also led me to further understand that images — once created — are powerful instruments that become an intersection between the spiritual and cultural needs of the individual. “

Burns work is the first in a series of art exhibits slated to be at the Long Beach Playhouse Gallery and there is great excitement about her creative paintings of the natural and spiritual.

The Long Beach Playhouse Gallery Director, Greg Fritsche is enthused about the new vision and direction of the LB Playhouse Gallery.
