Murder-Suicide Victims of San Clemente Boutique Shooting Identified

The couple were husband and wife.

From the Orange County Sheriff’s Department:

On Saturday, Oct. 25, Orange County Sheriff’s investigators initiated an investigation following a shooting that occurred at the Bliss Clothing Boutique at 167 Avenida Del Mar.

The shooting resulted in deputies discovering the deceased bodies of an adult male and female inside the business. Following the preliminary investigation and evidence collected at the scene, the incident is being investigated as a murder-suicide.

The deceased have been identified as John Patrick Dillard, 59, San Clemente and Cynthia Jean Rosier, 64, San Clemente. Dillard and Rosier were married.

Investigators believe Dillard entered the Bliss Clothing Boutique with a handgun, shot and killed Rosier before turning the weapon on himself.

Only one other person, an employee, was inside the business at the time. She made the 9-1-1 call and was uninjured.
