Pep Rallies Are More Fun in the Dark Anyway

The homecoming pep rally at Capistrano Valley Christian Schools went off without a hitch despite Friday's power outage.

"Three hundred CVCS students would be in the gym in 30 minutes and there was no power," said the school's spokeswoman Miranda Baird, who commended the leaders for pulling off a successful event anyway.

"They had games planned for the entire school that required power, but they just improvised," she said. "They found a portable speaker that was battery powered to play the music and the pep rally without power was a huge success."

Baird reported that most of the kids said this was the most fun they had at a pep rally.

CVCS (4-3, 2-1) plays St. Michael’s Prep (4-1, 2-0) at 7 p.m. Friday at San Clemente High School.
