San Juan Capistrano Woman Missing, Possibly Suicidal

Officials said the woman was distraught following a breakup with her boyfriend.

Authorities today sought the public’s assistance to locate a woman they described as distraught and possibly suicidal over the ending of a relationship.

Sonia Gutierrez, 26, was last seen in the 31000 block of Calle La Purisima at 1:40 p.m., Orange County Sheriff’s Lt. Jeffrey Hallock said.

This was after Gutierrez had repeatedly called a friend and spoke of taking a drug overdose, Hallock said.

Gutierrez subsequently left her residence in a vehicle and had not been seen since, he said.

She was unhappy about a recent breakup with a boyfriend, Hallock said.

Gutierrez was described as five-feet, four-inches tall, weighing 140 pounds, with brown eyes and long black hair. She was last seen wearing a red long sleeve sweater and blue jeans. Her vehicle is a blue 2007 Toyota Yaris with a California license plate 5WTK064.
