Fatal San Mateo Poisoning Victim ID’d
Two additional Atria Park of San Mateo residents who ingested the chemicals were hospitalized, police said.
SAN MATEO, CA — A 93-year-old woman fatally poisoned at a Peninsula senior living facility earlier this week has been identified as Trudy F. Maxwell of San Mateo, the San Mateo County Coroner’s Office said.
Maxwell was among three Atria Park of San Mateo residents who were mistakenly served dishwashing liquid instead of juice, the facility confirmed in a statement obtained by NBC Bay Area. The other two residents were hospitalized.
Officers at around 8:10 p.m. Friday responding to the facility on the report of a woman being poisoned determined that three residents had ingested the chemicals, police said.

SMPD Detectives are investigating this case jointly with the California Department of Social Services Ombudsman, police said.
Atria Hillsdale is cooperating with this investigation, according to police.
