Construction Starts On Learning Center In Bay Area

The center is intended to offer STEM education for underserved Bay Area children.

DALY CITY, CA — Construction has officially begun Tuesday on what officials are calling a state-of-the-art early learning center in Daly City.

Midaway Village 2 will include a 15,000 square foot childcare center for underserved Bay Area children and will be run by Peninsula Family Services, one of the largest providers of early learning and child development programs in the region.

The building is expected to be completed in 2027.

“We are excited to mark the start of construction on Midway Village 2 and proud to play a leading role in bringing high-quality, early childhood education to this transformative development,” said Heather Cleary, CEO of Peninsula Family Service. “With our deep roots in the community and decades of expertise, we are committed to ensuring every child, regardless of their family’s income, has access to the care, education, and opportunity they deserve.”

The design of the new center will emphasize STEM-based learning curriculum.

PFS is one of the largest early learning providers in San Mateo County and has nine sites that serve more than 600 children annually.
