SAN MATEO, CA — A large tree fell Wednesday in San Mateo causing police to shut down a major road while crews work to clear the area, police said.

The SMPD reported at around 2:55 p.m. that a massive tree fell in the area of S. Railroad Avenue between 9th Avenue and 10th Avenue.
Police have closed the road while emergency personnel attempt to clear the area quickly, police said.
