During the checkpoint, deputies will look for signs that drivers are under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.
SAN MATEO COUNTY, CA — A Peninsula DUI checkpoint will be held in Millbrae Friday, the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office said.
The checkpoint will be held from 6 p.m. Friday to 2 a.m. Saturday in the 0 to 100 block of El Camino Real between, the Sheriff’s Office said Thursday.
Checkpoint locations are chosen based on a history of DUI crashes and arrests according to the Sheriff’s Office, which said the primary purpose of checkpoints is not to make arrests, but to promote public safety by deterring drivers from driving impaired.
