For all who are struggling to make ends meet, Samaritan House is here to help. For over 50 years, Samaritan House has been leading the fight against poverty in San Mateo County. We are the only organization that delivers essential services and personalized support to connect the people living in poverty among us to the full range of resources and services they need. More than just ensuring our clients are fed, clothed, healthy, and housed, we help them create their own stability and remain an active, successful part of the community. Over recent years, more and more families in San Mateo County have been thrust into poverty. From the COVID-19 pandemic, to increasing wealth inequality, to the impacts of inflation and the housing crisis, the financial pressures on our neighbors have grown. According to PG&amp;E, the process enhances their ongoing efforts in increasing the safety of PG&amp;E lines. Workers will briefly vent natural gas during daytime hours in the vicinity of Beach Park/Polaris intersection (south); the Castor/Polaris intersection; and the Arcturus/Polaris intersection (north). PG&amp;E warns that as they perform the work, customers in the area may "briefly smell natural gas and hear the sound of it venting from the pipe," according to a release sent out."It will quickly dissipate into the atmosphere and is not harmful; however, safety is always our top priority, and we encourage anyone who has concerns about natural gas odors in or around their home or business to call us at 1-800-743-5000, so we can safely determine the specific cause."The company says service to customers will not be interrupted during this work.
