57-Hour Marin Freeway Closure Postponed: Caltrans

MARIN COUNTY, CA — The 57-hour partial closure of a Marin freeway scheduled for this week was postponed to next month, Caltrans said.

The full two-lane closure of northbound U.S. Highway 101 from just north of the Robin Williams Tunnel (formerly known as the Waldo Tunnel) to the Rodeo Avenue off-ramp will start at 10 p.m. July 8 and run through 7 a.m. July 11, Caltrans said.

The closure was originally scheduled to start Friday.

No on- or off-ramps will be closed.

The closure was expected to cause travel delays of up to an hour, and Caltrans urged motorists to allow additional time for travel.

Motorists were advised to consider alternative bridges, including the Richmond/San Rafael and Oakland/San Francisco Bay bridges, the agency said.

Messaging signs will be placed to assist motorists navigating the construction zone, Caltrans said.

"We ask that you please drive with caution within the construction zone,” Caltrans said.
