CHP Holds Marin DUI Checkpoint
No arrests were made and no citations issued, but authorities say the main purpose of checkpoints is to deter impaired driving.
MARIN COUNTY, CA — No arrests were made or citations issued over the weekend at a Marin sobriety checkpoint, the California Highway Patrol said.
The CHP conducted the checkpoint in unincorporated Marin at Sir Francisco Drake Boulevard east of La Cuesta Drive from 7 p.m. Friday to 2 a.m. Saturday.
“A key objective is to reduce the number of drinking drivers on the road, rather than produce a dramatic increase of arrests,” the CHP said in a statement.
