Fatal Marin Hit-And-Run Suspect Convicted: Report

Frank Anthony Barone Jr., 34 of Moorpark, faces up to four years and eight months in prison, The Marin Independent Journal reports.

MARIN COUNTY, CA – The suspect in a fatal Marin hit-and-run has been convicted, The Marin Independent Journal reports.

Frank Anthony Barone Jr., 34 of Moorpark (Ventura County), faces up to four years and eight months in prison for felony convictions on hit-and-run and conspiring to obstruct justice charges in connection with the 2018 freeway crash that killed a motorcyclist, the report said.

Barone’s sentencing is scheduled for June 23, the report said.

The crash occurred March 26th, 2018.

Marie Siegenthaler, 29, was riding her motorcycle on southbound US-101 near the East Blithedale exit when she was fatally struck by a 2004 Chevrolet Tahoe driven by Barone, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Evidence left at the scene helped investigators determined the specific vehicle model involved in the crash, and pleas for public assistance locating the vehicle led to Barone’s April 2019 arrest, the CHP said in a news release.

The Marin County District Attorney’s Office assisted the CHP in their investigation of this case, the agency said.
