Firefighters Extinguish Blaze At San Rafael Restaurant

The fire early Monday in San Rafael closed down a stretch of Fourth Street for two hours.

SAN RAFAEL, CA — Firefighters rushed to extinguish a blaze at a restaurant on Fourth Street Monday morning in San Rafael, and the emergency response blocked the road for more than an hour.

According to police, officers closed the road in both directions between Irwin and Hetherton streets shortly after 7 a.m. as fire crews responded to the scene at a taqueria on the 600 block of Fourth Street.

Police announced the scene was clear a few minutes before 9 a.m. Further details about the fire were not immediately available.
