SAN RAFAEL, CA — San Rafael fire crews Wednesday morning made quick work of a small grass fire between the rear of Marin Civic Center and Highway 101, the San Rafael Police Department said.

The blaze was first reported at around 6:53 a.m., The Marin Independent Journal reports.
It was likely caused by a discarded cigarette, police said.

Fire crews knocked down the 1/8-acre blaze within minutes, police said.
The SRPD and the Marin County Sheriff’s Office also responded to the blaze.
