Marin County Ghost Story: Blue Boy

Blue Boy has been reportedly haunting the halls of a local college for decades.

SAN RAFAEL, CA — From generation to generation, students at Dominican University in San Rafael have passed down ghost stories.

There's the nun from Angelico, the ghost of Fanjeaux, and the ghost of the Dominican townhomes — but none may be more bone chilling than the tale of Blue Boy from Meadowlands.

The de Young family were the owner of the Meadowlands building before the college acquired it, according to the Dominican University website.

The de Youngs were a wealthy and influential family in the area and, during those times, they did not let him out of the house in order to protect their reputation, the university stated.

The story goes that one day the mother of the boy snapped and while she was bathing him she drowned the boy in the bathtub.

In her dismay, she cut herself and decided to hang herself.

The boy was known as Blue Boy due to the color he turned after the drowning from then on.
