Marin Holds Gun Buyback

MARIN COUNTY, CA — Marin will hold a gun buyback event in San Rafael next month, officials said.

The gun buyback will be held June 4 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Marin County Sheriff’s Office (1600 Los Gamos Drive).

County officials officials will pay $100 for handguns, rifles and shotguns and $200 for assault weapons, the Sheriff's Office said.

The program is anonymous.

“Help reduce the risk of suicide, accidental discharge, domestic violence and guns getting into the wrong hands,” the Sheriff’s Office said.

Firearms must be in working condition and there is a limit to three firearms per person.

The buyback will be drive-up only, and unloaded firearms must be kept in the trunk. Boxed ammo will also be accepted at this event.
