Marin School District To Hold Documentary Film Screening
The NUSD's Nov. 18 screening of "A Prosecutor's Stand" is part of the city's commemoration of United Against Hate Week.
NOVATO, CA — The Novato Unified School District next week will hold a screening of a short documentary film addressing hate crimes.
The screening of “A Prosecutor’s Stand” will be held Nov. 18 at 5:30 p.m. at Novato High School’s Center for the Arts (625 Arthur Street).
The screening is part of the NUSD’s participation in United Against Hate Week (Nov. 14-20).

The film documents San Francisco District Attorney Victor Hwang’s charging perpetrators of racially-motivated crimes.

“Hwang raises awareness about the importance of reporting and prosecuting hate, and works with the community to seek justice for the victims,” a description of the film on the movie’s website said.

“A Prosecutor’s Stand” was produced in conjunction with the U.S. Department of Justice COPS Office as part of Not in Our Town, a group that works to make communities safer and more inclusive.
A Q&A panel and interactive discussion will follow the screening of the 17-minute film.
