​Marin Vehicle Theft Suspect Arrested

Brandon Reece Clark, 33 of San Francisco, was found to be in possession of suspected Fentanyl, according to police.

NOVATO, CA — A San Francisco vehicle theft suspect was arrested Tuesday, Novato police said.

Brandon Reece Clark, 33 of San Francisco, was arrested on suspicion of possession of a stolen vehicle and a controlled substance, according to police.

The involved vehicle was towed to a local tow yard and the owner was notified, police said.

Officers at around 3:45 p.m. Tuesday responded to a report of a stolen vehicle at the Vintage Oaks Shopping Center, police said.

Officers located the vehicle nearby and conducted a “high-risk” traffic stop, which is typically initiated when a traffic stop involves a stolen vehicle and the occupants may pose a significant threat to the officers, police said.

A search of the vehicle revealed suspected Fentanyl and suspected stolen items, police said.

Clark was also in possession of a stun gun and pepper spray, according to police.

He was booked into the Marin County Jail for possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of controlled substances and other charges.

Since January 2022, the Novato Police Department has recovered 6 stolen vehicles and 4 stolen license plates specifically in the Vintage Oaks area, police said.

“We continue to work with partner agencies and the community to reduce property theft and stolen vehicles,” the agency said in a statement.
