'National Night Out' Events Planned Next Month In Marin County

MARIN COUNTY, CA — The Marin County Sheriff's Office plans to host several community events on Aug. 1 as part of National Night Out. Early evening events are scheduled in San Rafael, Novato and Marin City, along with a community barbecue planned at Point Reyes Station.

"National Night Out is a crime prevention and community policing celebration organized by law enforcement and local community groups," one event flyer reads. "Just as we hope to meet you and others from throughout our community, we really hope you will come and meet the men & women behind the badges who proudly serve and protect you every day and night."

The barbecue dinner at Point Reyes will also feature free ice cream, a raffle, and activities for kids.

Here is the schedule of events for Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2023:

Southern Marin

• Location: Rocky Graham Park (850 Drake Ave, Marin City)
• Time: 5 p.m. - 8 p.m.

Bel Marin Keys

• Location: 4 Montego Key (Novato)
• Time: 5 p.m. - 7 p.m.

Santa Venetia

• Location: Korean Presbyterian Church (635 Adrian Way, San Rafael)
• Time: 7 p.m.

Community BBQ Dinner

• Location: Point Reyes Public Safety Building (101 4th Street)
• Time: 4 p.m. - 8 p.m.
