SAN RAFAEL, CA — Fire crews tackled a vegetation fire Wednesday morning on San Rafael Hill after reports of smoke in the area. According to the fire department, crews made quick work of the flames off Coleman Avenue, between Graceland and Vineyard, containing the blaze to roughly 40 by 40 feet.

Crews remained on scene mopping up the area shortly before 8 a.m., and officials said no structures were threatened.

The fire happened ahead of a broad heat advisory set to take effect Wednesday night and a few hours before a controlled burn scheduled to take place on the Mount Tamalpais Watershed.
