San Rafael Police Offer ‘Crash Course’ On Speeding

SAN RAFAEL, CA — San Rafael plans to hold a “crash course” on speeding next month that aims to promote public safety.
The San Rafael Police Citizen Radar Class aims to inform residents about speed enforcement laws and enforcement procedures.
The course is scheduled to be held April 16 from 9 a.m. to noon at the San Rafael Public Safety Center (1323 Fifth Ave.).

“We’ll breeze through a hands-on exercise showing you how to use an actual police radar device,” the SRPD said in a statement announcing the class.

“The group will then take a brisk walk to a nearby downtown street where participants can test one another’s ability to visually estimate the speed of passing vehicles.”
The admission to the course is free.
The course is limited to 20 participants.
Participants are required to be San Rafael residents at least 16 years of age.
