Marin County Sex Offender Arrested, Accused Of Following Child To School: Police
Police said he has arrest records spanning from 2017 to 2025, including for child annoyance after being on different school campuses.
SAN RAFAEL, CA — A sex offender out on parole was arrested Tuesday in San Rafael after he reportedly followed a child onto a middle school campus, police said.
Willie Jessie Clinton-Jones, 45, of San Rafael, was arrested after multiple calls of suspicious activity, including a report that he followed a child onto Davidson Middle School in San Rafael, police said.
Just after 8 a.m., SRPD received calls that a man was acting suspiciously in the Woodland Avenue neighborhood, police said. Then Davidson Middle School officials called reporting a man they suspected was Clinton-Jones had followed a child onto the campus, police said.

Officers said that Clinton-Jones had not made any physical contact with the child and fled the scene when school officials approached him.
SRPD police officer Scott Eberle said the school officials were aware of Clinton-Jones from prior incidents of him walking onto school campuses in San Rafael and harassing students.

SRPD officers learned that Clinton-Jones is a sex offender who had been arrested several times for dangerous and indecent acts including harassing children and “terrorizing” women in San Rafael, police said. It was known that Clinton-Jones was on parole through the California Department of Corrections and was ordered to wear a GPS tracking monitor, police said.
CDCR provided his location and SRPD officers said they arrested Clinton-Jones without incident in the 200 block of Woodland Avenue.
Police said they learned he had been released from jail 24 hours prior to the case and that SRPD officers had arrested him for similar violations from 2017 to 2024.
Clinton-Jones was booked into the Marin County Jail for violating his parole, being a sex offender school grounds and child annoyance. He is currently being held without bail.
