Virtual Meeting Set For $18M Sir Francis Drake Blvd Project
The meeting will be held on June 3 to discuss the 18-month renovation of 2.2 miles of roadway.
SAN RAFAEL, CA — A public meeting has been set to discuss details about the upcoming $18 million renovation of Sir Francis Drake Boulevard. The meeting will be held Wednesday, June 3, from 5 to 6:30 p.m.
The meeting will be held online, and residents will be able to submit questions, Marin County said in a release. Residents can register to participate online or visit the project website for more details.
According to the county, the project includes 2.2 miles of Sir Francis Drake Boulevard from Highway 101 to Ross' southern town line.

In the release, the county said the project start date has been moved up so work can be completed while traffic on roadways is lighter than usual because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Project updates are available on the project website.
Construction work will begin in front of Anthony G. Bacich Elementary School, a stretch of roadway that should be completed before schools start in the fall, the county said.

According to the release, the project includes the addition of pedestrian and cycling safety measures, new striping, improved intersections and highway signals, landscaping, utility improvements and lighting.
