Woman Punches Car Wash Employee, Threatens Worker With Knife: Police
A worker trying to resolve an argument between two customers ended up pinned to the ground, police said.
SAN RAFAEL, CA — A woman faces felony charges after she punched a car wash employee and threatened the worker with a knife when the employee tried to resolve a conflict between the woman and another customer, according to San Rafael police.
Megan Joan Ebert, 27, of Fresno, is charged with felony assault with a deadly weapon and felony battery causing great bodily injury, police said.
Emergency personnel responded just after 9:30 a.m. Monday to multiple 911 calls about a fight in the parking lot of a car wash near Bellam and Francisco boulevards, according to police, who said witnesses described a violent assault.

Officers arrived to find the assailant had fled, although witnesses gave a detailed description of the woman and her vehicle, including the license plate number, police said.
Ebert had argued with another customer while waiting in line and an employee had tried to resolve the conflict peacefully, according to police, but Ebert threatened the worker with a knife, punched her and pinned her to the ground. The victim was treated for her injuries by paramedics at the scene, police said.

Later Monday, an automated plate reader in San Pablo alerted police just before 8 p.m. that Ebert’s vehicle was in the area, authorities said, adding San Pablo officers detained Ebert, who was arrested by San Rafael police and admitted to her involvement in the attack.
She was booked into Marin County jail and held in lieu of $50,000 bail, according to police.
