3.0 Magnitude Earthquake Near San Ramon Monday Morning

The quake took place 4 miles east-northeast of San Ramon early Monday morning.

A 3.0-magnitude earthquake struck an area near Blackhawk in Contra Costa County early Monday morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
           
The temblor occurred at 1:32 a.m. about 4 miles east-northeast of San Ramon and 5 miles east-southeast of Danville.

Some San Ramon Facebook users commented that the quake woke them up, but that it didn't last long.

"I live in Windemere....it woke me up. Just a light jolt and rattling windows. I've heard worse with our famous winds," commented Anne Provost on Facebook.

The earthquake had a depth of about 7.6 miles, according to the USGS.
