Dog Rescued From The Back Of Truck Up For Adoption
A 6-year-old pitbull rescued last summer by a San Ramon police officer from the back of a sweltering truck is now up for adoption.

SAN RAMON, CA - A 6-year-old pit bull terrier rescued from the back of a box truck in San Ramon last summer is now available for adoption.
Last September on an 85-degree day, a resident heard barking coming from the back of a closed box truck parked on Longleaf Circle and called the police. An officer found Dexter in the back, and brought him to the police department. The owner was cited for animal endangerment and his truck was towed for expired registration.
Almost a year later, Dexter is up for adoption at Contra Costa Animal Services. The shelter describes him as having a “playful side that emerges when I’m in the mood for some fun.”

“Whether it's playing fetch with my human or a lively game of tug-of-war, my enthusiasm is contagious, and my wagging tail never fails to bring a smile to everyone's face,” Dexter said via his human interpreters.
