Driverless Cars Headed for the Bay Area
The San Ramon Planning Commission received a detailed presentation on how autonomous vehicles will impact the area.

SAN RAMON, CA- Contra Costa County officials got a detailed look at the future of transportation via driverless cars will be like at a special presentation on autonomous vehicles earlier this month.
The California League of Cities presented the benefits and technology of the concept to a gathering of the San Ramon Planning Commissioners Academy, with lectures by execs from the Department of Motor Vehicles, Nissan, the Canadian Automated Vehicles Centre of Excellence, and Cal Poly.
According to a report by Paso Robles Daily News, driverless cars will fill the streets sooner than you think, as Nissan plans to release them by 2020. Tesla and Google reportedly plan to release them even sooner.

Benefits of autonomous vehicles include less pollution, parking space, traffic and need for buses, with a savings of $1.3 trillion in the US economy.
