Footbridge Near Cal High Reopens

The bridge is especially popular with Cal High students going between the school and residential neighborhoods east of the creek.

SAN RAMON, CA — The Mangos Drive footbridge that connects the Iron Horse Regional Trail with Mangos Drive adjacent to California High School, reopened on Monday, after being closed for about a month, school district officials said tonight on social media.

The bridge, which crosses Coyote Creek just east of the high school, has been closed since late July, received new wooden decking and repairs to the frame, its main superstructure. The $294,000 project was paid for using money from the Measure D bond measure approved in 2012 by voters in the San Ramon Valley Unified
School District.

Its rebuilding was overseen by the school district. The bridge is especially popular with Cal High students going between the school and residential neighborhoods east of the creek. There are no other creek crossings for several blocks in either direction from the Mangos Drive bridge.
