San Ramon Community Police Academy Enrolling For Fall
The program open to anyone living and working in San Ramon over age 18 will cover the ins and outs of law enforcement.
SAN RAMON, CA — The San Ramon Police Department is enrolling for its fall Community Academy, a 14-session course to educate the community on the ins and outs of law enforcement. Police officers and department personnel lead weekly three-hour classes on a variety of topics, including patrol, criminal investigations, traffic stops, crime scenes, narcotics, DUI enforcement, use of force, officer safety, community policing, and defensive tactics. The course also takes field trips to the Marsh Creek shooting range and the Contra Costa Sheriff’s Office high-speed driving course.
The program will take place from Aug. 20 to Nov. 12, 2025. Classes are held Wednesdays from 6:30-9:30 p.m., with two Saturday sessions Sept. 20 and Oct. 18.
The academy is open to adults 18 or older who live or work in San Ramon. Space is limited. All applicants must undergo a background check, and the course is not available to anyone who has already taken it.
