Now Open: Iron Horse Trail Overcrossing at Bollinger Canyon Road

The Iron Horse Trail Bicycle and Pedestrian Overcrossing at Bollinger Canyon Road officially opened to the public on Saturday, July 19!
The City of San Ramon, in partnership withContra Costa Transportation Authority (CCTA), Contra Costa County (CCC), and East Bay Regional Park District (EBRPD), hosted the official opening event, which began in the City Hall rotunda with remarks from elected officials and partner agencies, followed by a ribbon cutting at the north entrance to the bridge.
Once the bridge was open, the community participated in a group photo on the bridge.

Applications Open: San Ramon Planning Commission

Do you have an interest in city planning and a desire to serve your community? The San Ramon Planning Commission is seeking one regular member for a term to expire in June 2029.
The Planning Commission advises the City Council on land use matters related to growth and development and provides ongoing input on the provision and delivery of carrying out the General Plan. Planning Commission Meetings are held on the first and third Tuesday of the month at 6 p.m.

Middle School Pool Party

Middle school students are invited to the Middle School Pool Party at the San Ramon Olympic Pool (9900 Broadmoor Drive, San Ramon CA 94583) on Wednesday, July 30 from 7 to 9 p.m.
It's one last dive to meet or hang out with their friends before school starts! Students will have access to the play structure, splash-and-dash, and diving boards. Attendees will also have the opportunity to play games to win prizes at the event. This event is for those entering 6th, 7th and 8th grade.
Applications Open: Planning Academy - Fall 2025
Apply by Friday, August 1
San Ramon's Community Development Department will host the 8th session of San Ramon Community Planning Academy in the fall of 2025. The goal of the Academy is to educate and engage residents in the City’s planning process. The Academy will provide an overview of why cities plan, how planning shapes our community, and the land use planning process.
The classes are anticipated to be held on four consecutive Mondays beginning September 8. Each class begins at 6:30 p.m. and ends at 9 p.m., and will be held at City Hall (7000 Bollinger Canyon Road, San Ramon CA 94583). Following completion of the course, there will be a formal recognition of class participants at a City Council meeting.
The class is free, but space is limited to 20 residents, over 18 years of age.

Dive-in Movie: Sonic the Hedgehog 3
Friday, August 8
7–10 p.m.
Dougherty Valley Aquatic Center
$2/person
Dive-In Movies are a fun time to hang out at the pool and watch a great movie! Bring your friends and family and enjoy Recreation Swim starting at 7 p.m.
Once the sun starts to go down, the pool will close for a short portion of time so it can be transitioned for the movie. Swimmers will be invited back into the pool to float and enjoy the movie in the water.
If watching from the deck, be sure to remember your chair and blankets.
Register in advance for quick access to the fun!

Youth Summer Showcase Concert

Dougherty Station Community Arts Center
Tickets: $10 adults / $5 youth under 18
This benefit concert, supporting the San Ramon Arts Foundation, is a celebration of Western classical music, musical theater, Bharatanatyam, and traditional Indian dance. Presented in partnership with San Ramon Academy of Music, Ushanjali School of Dance, and the City of San Ramon, the concert features San Ramon’s own rising young artists in an inspiring afternoon of live performances.

San Ramon Olympic Pool
Resident registration for Fall Swim Lessons is now open! Fall sessions run from Monday, August 11 through Sunday, September 28 at the San Ramon Olympic Pool (9900 Broadmoor Dr, San Ramon CA 94583).
Learn to swim in a safe, fun environment with outdoor heated pools.
Parent-Tot classes for 6 months+, small group and private lessons, and adult lessons are all taught by the awesome ElitSwim staff.

Applications Open: Free SRPD Community Academy
Join the San Ramon Police Department for the Fall 2025 Community Academy!
This free, 14-session program is designed to build stronger connections between the Department and the community. Taught by officers and Department staff, the course combines lectures, demonstrations, and hands-on activities covering topics such as patrol, investigations, traffic stops, DUI enforcement, and legal authority. Participants will take field trips to the Marsh Creek shooting range, a high-speed driving course, and the Martinez Detention Facility.
Open to adults 18 and older who live or work in San Ramon, the Academy runs from August 20 to November 12, 2025. Classes are held on Wednesday evenings from 6:30 PM to 9:30 PM, with two Saturday sessions on September 20th and October 18th. Space is limited, and all applicants must pass a background check.
