San Ramon Valley Student's Art Advances To National Competition

Eight students received top state honors and are advancing to the national level.

SAN RAMON, CA — Eight students in the San Ramon Valley Unified School District received top honors from the California State PTA in the annual Reflections Art recognition program, the school district said.

“We are incredibly proud of our student’s accomplishments in the PTA Reflections Arts program and that SRVUSD has the highest number of students representing the California State PTA at the National level competition. Strong arts programming is one of the key ways in which we inspire our students to find purpose, meaning and joy in their education." Superintendent Dr. John Malloy said.

21 of the 26 entries that advanced from the 32nd District PTA to the California State PTA were from San Ramon Valley schools.

Those advancing to the national round are:

  • Sia P. - California High School
  • Trisha M. - Coyote Creek Elementary
  • Shiram S. - Creekside Elementary
  • Constatine E. - Twin Creeks Elementary
  • Tanisi M. - Creekside Elementary
  • Isabella O. - Iron Horse Middle School
  • Noor G. Windemere Middle School
  • Katie C. - Monte Vista High School

The theme for 2022 was “I Will Change the World By…” in six categories. The categories were Dance Choreography, Film Production, Literature, Music Composition, Photography and Visual Arts.

The final artwork is judged in the categories of: Outstanding Interpretation, Awards of Excellence or Awards of Merit. Outstanding Interpretation and Award of Excellence.

The entries now go on to represent California in the final National PTA judging round.
