Sheep Get Their Hair Cut Once A Year And It’s A Spectacle
Sheep Shearing attracts hundreds of visitors.
SAN RAMON, CA - It’s haircut day at Forest Home Farms.
One sheep gets its hair cut then a herding dog moves the next sheep in line to get theirs done. The dog is also having a fun day with all eyes on them as they showcase their hard work and talent.
It's not your typical barbershop or fancy salon spectacle yet Sheep Shearing is the largest annual event with the San Ramon Historic Foundation, drawing nearly 1,000 guests every year.

While spending a day on the farm of the oldest homestead in the city, the community gets to see how sheep are sheared and how their wool gets cleaned and spun into yarn.
Visitors can also check out the tractor museum or hop on a tractor ride, enjoy lunch on the farm or visit the gift shop from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 0.m. April 23.

Tickets for Sheep Shearing are available now and are $10 for adults and $5 for children. Children under three years old are free.
